Coal Chamber was the nu metal band from California, USA formed in 1995. It enjoyed a bit of mainstream profits in the mid to late Ninety's in a period of the "nu metal boom" which it, along by having elastic such as KoЯn, Tool and the Deftones helped create. a band gained a big charted early in their career, arguably because it were one of the number 1 "goth" themed nu metal bands.
Biography
Coal Chamber signed to Roadrunner Records and recorded their first album (two inside 1996) for their self-titled debut in 1997. A album was freed to critical praise, especially for the number one lone Loco, a track however remembered when Coal Chamber's better function.
Their next album was freed inside fall of 1999 entitled Chamber Music. This album was considered a step out of the nu metal image they experienced engendered using their anterior release, with instead the additional gothic metal feel overall. In that album likewise was the handle of the song originally handle Peter Gabriel in 1982 called "Shock The Monkey" by owning legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne providing vocals in collaboration by owning a band's lead singer Dez Fafara.
A band followed higher by owning their third album Dark Days in the spring of 2002, which met with mixed reviews. Bassist Rayna Foss-Rose had left a band to raise her girl prior to the album was recorded; she was replaced by Nadja Peulen, who experienced taken Foss-Rose's place in a period of her gestation between the foremost 2 albums.
Late summertime 2003 saw the release of a compilation album highborn Giving The Devil His Due which included many demonstration tracks submitted per band before their signing using Roadrunner Records in 1997, along with many replacement studio recordings & remixes of various tracks from either their last releases.
Coal Chamber disbanded shortly when, when lead singer Dez Fafara left to form a metal group DevilDriver. Around June 2005, Fafara stated that Coal Chamber's hiatus is permanent & may non exist as reforming at anytime later.
